Theriogenology
(Reproductive Medicine)
Our Theriogenology Department offers the latest diagnostic, treatment, and reproductive medicine techniques and provides emergency care and hospitalization through the emergency service in our state-of-the-art facility. Our department is led by Dr. Anum Ahmed, who collaborates with a broad range of veterinary specialists including anesthesiology, radiology, surgery, and integrative medicine to ensure patients receive the most comprehensive care possible.
Reproductive Medicine Services
Our theriogenology team provides these advanced services:
- Breeding soundness examinations
- Brucellosis Testing
- Canine frozen semen services: routine semen freezing and storage; epididymal sperm harvest and freezing
- Cesarean sections
- Diagnosis and treatment of prostatic disease
- Female reproductive exams for breeding management as well as for infertility cases and breeding challenges
- Male reproductive exams including semen collection and evaluation, and preparation for artificial insemination and shipment
- Management of reproductive disorders, including treatment of pyometra and mis-mating management
- Ovulation timing via a combination of vaginal cytology and progesterone evaluation
- Pregnancy examination and diagnosis with blood, ultrasound, and/or X-ray
- Progesterone testing (in-house) with same-day results, or sent to a reference laboratory with results within 24 hours
- Transcervical and vaginal artificial insemination
